now, i don't claim to be a sports fan on any level. in all honesty, the only sport i fully understand is baseball because of my family attending my brother's little league games all those years ago. so a dodgers game, i can get into! but, football? soccer? basketball? i just try to look my cutest and eat the right junk food and clap when everyone else does.
nolan, joe and i were given tickets to a los angeles clippers game by a dear violinist friend of mine (also one of LA's best). a couple months ago, i was invited to a scoring session at fox studios for the tv show "revolution" by my friend who was playing concert master. i got to bring nolan along and blow his mind with LA scoring awesomeness, which was totally fun! there was a slip up in getting our names to security on time and, long story short, my friend gave us three tickets to this clippers game! i've never been to staples center either, so that was a sick experience.
we ate wetzel dogs, drank coca-cola (cuz it's the best), talked about upcoming movie/scoring/contracting/music business and it was just wonderful. i admit that i whooped and hollered nervously and only when joe did, but i actually figured out how basketball is played by the end of the night. improvement!
so is the life of LA musicians encountering sports.
