for the past 6 months, joe and i have adopted a lifestyle choice of eating the "fit for life" way. fit for life is a book (highly recommended. i am not a big reader and i actually read the whole thing.) written by some hippies about eating in a healthier way that compliments your body's natural metabolism. it centers around eating proteins and carbs seperately. example: no steak and potatoes, steak only or potatoes only. but all the fruit and vegetables you want. NOM. joe has grown up eating this way on and off for most of his life, so it's an easy transition for him. for me it was tricky at first, but now it is second nature.
why do we do this? personally, i feel great when i eat the fit for life way. i'm never bloated or tired after i eat a meal, it allows me to snack, and it is great for my body inside and out. joe and i have both loved the results we've achieved. now, we have cheat days every once in a while, like popcorn and soda at the movies (cuz, come on). christmas was like cheat season... i am ashamed...
new years is for a fresh start on fit for life and exercise this year. i recently discovered the wonder that is lorna jane active wear. and joe, being the sneaky devil that he is, surprised me with my first item this weekend! i needed a nice sports bra and now i am pumped to continue my yoga explorations while feeling cute and confident. the right active wear will change your life, man.
i hope to get better at maintaining my active lifestyle of fit for life and yoga, while juggling my full schedule as a student, teacher, and violinist. i'm lucky to live in one of the more active and healthful cities in the nation. i feel very supported in my lifestyle by my city, friends, and joe.
