we're on storm-derek-watch over here. remember that whole "it never rains in LA" thing? it's bogus. we're having a record-breaking storm right now. it was upgraded to a category six storm which means there could be a possible tornado warning. like one of my FB friends said "tornados? but, we don't have basements!"
so, i've been spending my morning wrapping christmas gifts and sipping coffee while watching netflix (natural rainy day instincts engaged.) and dreading having to go to work today.
the city looks so different in the rain. the color palette of the scenery is more dramatic and moody and i just feel like the earth is screaming "thank you!" our poor california desert needs this storm. they told us it was going to be an el niño year and i think i believe them now.
stay safe out there, californians.
