the stories of a los angeles violinist

scandalicious

Added on by Jordan Martone.

so i sidelined on abc's "scandal". my episode aired this past week but thanks to the abc/disney gods that are probably watching my every move, i haven't posted about it until now.

for this one, i ended up being more blurry background than anything else. the last sidelines I had i was pretty visible and featured. this one, you could see me as a purple blob behind the "president of the united states". that's how things go. the camera could be right next to you for the whole shoot and you get no screen time. very humorous how these things work.

my fitting with the costumers. this purple half-toga dress was very entertaining to me and everyone else on set that day.

i spent the majority of the day sitting in a holding room with the rest of the string quartet, the chief of staff, white house correspondent, first lady and the president. (cyrus, james, mellie, and fitz.) And they were just the most wonderful kinds of people. We had full conversations about our lives as musicians and actors and you could really get a feel for how close this cast is.

an actual exchange between the first lady and correspondent: "oh my god! i forgot to tweet oprah a happy birthday!" "awe, how sweet. i didn't know you two were so close!" "yeah, every time i drive the kids home from school, we pass her house and they shout 'hi opraaaaaah!'"

cool, man.

there was wonderful food and awesome people and besides being frequently mistaken for extras-who-weren't-supposed-to-be-eating-at-the-actor's-table it was a quick and easy, fun experience.

my one regret: kerry washington wasn't called to set that day. *sigh* almost, jordan, almost.

after the shoot, i went home and watched all the scandal. all of it. and it is fantastic! this show is gold! i literally had me sobbing in bed one night. i just feel for fitz and olivia! gah, the tv drama!

so, go watch scandal. and if you happen to watch season 3 episode 14 "kiss kiss bang bang", know that that purple blob in the presidential ball flash-back scene is me. jordan ann.
