this is a "what i've been up to" post. i've been having the busiest month in recent memory. it's been all teaching and gigging and "no, i can't reschedule you because i'm graduating from college and planning a wedding and i don't teach on sundays because if i do i'll lose my frickin mind."
i think run-on sentences help me express the over-exaggerated desperation in my voice.
the whymaniacs of the whyman project have been gigging a lot lately and most recently, we played at the valley performing arts center! we played in the lobby as guests arrived for sequence 8, a circus performance. we wowed the audience and sold a lot of CDs and had a blast in the process. this group is really starting to blossom into a family, which is terribly exciting.
monday night, baby kenna and i finally got to use our christmas gift from carter to see miranda sings! those of you who know of miranda sings (colleen ballinger) know what a hilarious comedian she is and how huge her fan base is. my sister is the most die-hard fan. she came dress up as miranda complete with blue striped shirt and the red "haters back off" sweat pants.
this was kenna post-show. it was quite good. not only did we both thoroughly enjoy the show, laughing through our tears of hilarity, but we were very inspired as well. colleen is an incredibly creative and innovative young woman who has made a comedy character representative of all the insecurities of the world and how to laugh at it all. that's something to be admired. she's a bit of a genius.
that's what's been up around here lately. that and joe keeps replenishing the apartment with fresh flowers which is just the most wonderful surprise a girl could come home to after kid-wrangling all day.
also, word of advice for this february: avoid children at all costs. they will sneeze on you and they will give you a weird virus that knocks you out for 4 days.
