my. last. CSUN. symphony. concert.
it didn't hit me until i was packing up my violin after the concert that this was my very last concert because i'm graduating! wow! i counted 24 concerts that i've played with this group over the past 4 years i've been a student here. several of those as a principle player, 3 of those as a concertmaster. the group has been good for me. i learned a lot as an orchestral player, and even more about people than i had anticipated.
^ joe called this my "video game pose". he caught me while i was re-organizing my music at intermission. i was happy to have my fiancé and blog-tographer at my last concert, since he couldn't make my fantasia one. (he was playing a pro-movie music concert. whatever ;)
we played afternoon of a faun, petroushka, and the chopin piano concerto with our concerto competition winner. a great last concert in the ever-beautiful VPAC.
while i will miss being a part of an orchestra, i'm ready to move on to hopefully bigger and better things. this orchestra has been the source of many lost gigs, sadly. (want to play for hans zimmer at video games music live? too bad, orchestra conflicts. want to sideline for "castle"? too bad, orchestra conflicts.) so i'm looking forward to accepting more work.
in the words of joe martone, "watch out world, she's coming."
