the stories of a los angeles violinist

home tour // living area

hey! it's a home tour! a much-overdue home tour!

joe and i live in a small loft apartment in the warner center, just 20 minutes from hollywood. we love our little space and even though it may seem cramped to some people, it's absolutely perfect for us newlyweds.

our desk setup is where we spend a large majority of our time answering emails, scheduling, and recording. we have the ability to expand our skills as musicians by recording remotely from our home. with our incredibly tall ceilings, we have great natural acoustics, making this place excellent for our jobs.

we are lucky to not have to turn on the heat in the winter, thanks to our fireplace. and these giant floor-to-ceiling windows let in just the right amount of light. we really won with this place.

i have to plug our dear friend max. thank you for the couch, hun!

one day i came home from work and this table was here in place of our old coffee table. i said "wow! it's so cool! but so big..." it's grown on me. along with the congas in the corner and the side table full of percussion mallets. (joe.)

so, we have this "cove" as we have fondly named it. basically it's a particularly deep, square shaped area underneath the stairs that is just the most awkward thing. it's too small for a person but just the right size for some storage. it did not have that cutesy curtain around it though. we put that in to hide the clutter. cuz that's what storage looks like even when it's organized, am i right? clutter?

the chalkboard multi-functional thing is a savior. joe's papa's old film projector sits next to my record player under the TV where we watch far too much youtube and jimmy fallon. and joe's favorite clock hangs on the wall along with our knick-knacks. my favorite thing is joe's handmade shekere, one of many. and yes, that is a wooden deer... a student gave it to me once and i can't stand to part with it just yet. it's kind of my tribute to audrey's pet deer, "ip"... don't judge me...

you may notice that we are quite fond of art and our walls are filled with it. it's a combination of joe's old movie and hollywood posters, and my paintings. and as soon as we get our wedding photos back, you can bet i'm putting those up everywhere!

the rest of our home will come later because i tried to do this all in one post, but you would've wanted to kill me by the end.

hope you enjoyed this little peek into our home! happy weekend!
