i had my first facial, people! and it was weird!
let me preface this by saying that i've never had a facial of any kind and the one i just had was not the "massage happy-smelling liquids onto your face and call it a day" kind. i had a laser-light facial from skin laundry. i first heard of skin laundry from my favorite blogger, natalie jean, (who just recently shut down her blog! that's an emotional story for another day...) and i thought that i'd give it a try. i figured, it's healthy for my face and i've never had one, so why not? my mom-in-love got me a gift card for my birthday and skin laundry has a deal where your first facial is free!
they first use a laser that pricks your skin like a tattoo needle... it was uncomfortable but not unbearable... probably because that part only lasted for about 3 minutes tops. the rest of the appointment was glorious. it involved cooling gel and bright, flashing lights and pleasantness. i can't tell you for certain if it helped my skin, because i broke out like a 13-year old immediately after and i'm still dealing with a face full of acne... but i'm sure it was good!... right?
joe and i have been having our first taste of summer over here. it's hot and we're almost done teaching our schools for the year. i cannot wait to get away with my hunky husband and soak in all of this vacation time.
speaking of teaching, my middle school kids played a star wars medley for their spring concert finale, complete with glowstick bows. i've never seen those parents so excited to take their kid's picture.
and joe had his percussion ensemble concert with his high schoolers. joe has a fantastic way with this age group. and i rarely get to see him conduct, which is a real treat for me! love this multi-talented man!
skyping with our besties ryan and alissa is definitely our favorite evening activity. and you should totes follow us on snapchat to catch all this goodness ^
i broke out the good camera for these photos. if you watch vlog monday, you already know that we attempted to go to the farmer's market over the weekend and ended up having french food for breakfast instead. this vanilla latte was radical and highly recommended at le pain quotidien!
that's been around here lately!
thanks for reading along.
