if you like fluffy dogs and aren't already following me on instagram, you should be.
my insta story is mostly my adorable dog, brando. it's rarely me even though i try to promote myself as a violinist on my insta... i should probably work on all that branding.
anyways, enjoy a day in the life of brando the maltipoo.
i know. he's the cutest. he has boundless energy but is such a good dog. joe and i hit the jackpot.
speaking of joe, he has been teaching band camp(s) for the past several weeks and he just concluded the last one. just in time for school to start. yes, the school year is starting! what is life?! this summer has been remarkably short. but then again, i've never been much of a summer person. this past SoCal winter was amazing. lots and lots of rain made for a faux-winter feeling here in the desert. i'd give my left pinky toe for a winter like that again this year. besides, my winter clothes are much cuter than my summer ones. my scarf collection is the least-minimalistic thing about my life.
the interesting thing about our profession is that it is ever-changing. we get different performing, recording, and teaching gigs each year. i'm no longer teaching at a middle school i've been at for the past 5-years, but i'm adding my own program at an elementary school. i've been recording more than ever and moving into a more flexible position in my teaching life to make room. joe has been incredibly busy with musicals lately. we actually got to play one together for the past 2 weeks. "gypsy" the musical. a musical about a crazy stage mom who turns her daughter into a stripper that was performed by 15-year olds in this particular reenactment.
awks. my. socks.
but i was positioned in the pit in such a way that i faced joe the whole time. i love staring at that handsome man of mine. that's one of the many reasons why i married him. he's laid gorgeous.
i'm soaking up these last few days with my husband and pup before our schedules become even more full.
before I go, I have a fun little announcement! i was interviewed for the blog strip search LA about my about my love for the city of LA and how it represents my career. read it here! i had a blast talking about the place i love most in this world.
