there are few times i've loved my husband more than in the moment when he woke up in the morning on president's weekend, looked my in the eyes and said, "i think we need to be typical los angelenos and go to brunch right now."

that might be a tad dramatic, but you get the idea. i was elated.

this was the moment in which i realized that my leg had fallen asleep so seriously that I could not force it to walk for me. i looked like a maniac on the street while i wiggled and writhed and whined. i think i've got some blood circulation issues...

we went to brite spot diner in eagle rock which is apparently one of the most photographed diners in LA. i totally agree with that title. it's adorable. it looks like it hasn't changed since the 60's and i am here for it! i had the vegetarian breakfast burrito and it rocked my world and it took all of my self control to not go for the banana cream pie in the dessert case.

we also walked down the street and around the corner to peek into triniti coffee and we found this super cool vomit-art guy on the sidewalk. #klassy.

eagle rock has drop-dead gorgeous views of the city around every turn. it's impossible not to "gram" it. we only scratched the surface, but we were able to get away for a few hours to a cool pocket of LA. highly recommended.
